When Pao and Ro reached out to me, I immediately felt a beautiful connection with their story. It was not only about the incredible way their paths crossed, but about the way life slowly and perfectly placed every piece in the right moment. Their story was one of those reminders that sometimes people can be close before they are truly meant to meet. They shared friends, attended gatherings with the same circles, and had many opportunities to cross paths, but somehow the moment was not yet right. Life was quietly preparing everything until the perfect time arrived. And when it finally did, everything fell into place. It was the moment when they chose to take the next step and formally celebrate the love they had built. As I began designing their symbolic ceremony and learning more about their story, I wanted to create something that felt authentic to who they are. A ceremony that reflected their connection with the sea, the memories created aboard their boat, and the path they had chosen to navigate side by side.
That is how their Cabo Ceremony was born. You may wonder what a Cabo Ceremony represents. For Pao and Ro, the sea is much more than a place; it is part of their life and the memories. Their boat has been the setting for incredible adventures, moments of discovery, and experiences . In a boat, every element has a purpose. The cabo, or rope, is essential because it connects, secures, and provides stability. It allows different parts of the boat to remain united, even when the waters become challenging. The cornamusa, or cleat, is the piece that holds the rope firmly in place, creating a safe point of support. Just like in marriage, both elements are necessary. The cabo represents the invisible bond that brings two people together, the strength of a commitment that remains steady through every season. The cornamusa represents the foundation, the trust, and the place where that bond can find security. Together, they remind us that marriage, like sailing, is not only about reaching a destination, but about learning how to enjoy every part of the voyage. To complete this meaningful ritual, Pao and Ro sealed their ceremony with a knot. A knot represents more than the union of two ends; it symbolizes the decision to join their lives with intention, trust, and devotion. It reflects the promise to remain connected, supporting each other as they continue creating new memories and navigating whatever waters come their way.
Their Cabo Ceremony was a reflection of who they are: adventurous, connected to the sea, and deeply meaningful because it was created only for them. A reminder that some encounters are worth waiting for, because when the right moment arrives, everything finds its place.
